TGIF! #4

TGIF! is a weekly meme hosted by Ginger from GReads! where you can recap the weeks posts and respond to a question.

Promote An Author: Is there a particular author you wish got more recognition? Pick one author & tell us why we should read their work.

Cassandra Clare!
I feel like she is a fairly popular YA author, but she is my favorite and if you haven’t read her books (The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices) then you should stop reading this post right now and go do it!

Not only is she a fabulous author, but she is also really great to her fans. She is always making time to answer questions, release teasers, and she even looks at and reposts fan art!

  1. I've only read Clockwork Angel so far, and I thought it was pretty good! I've heard it's pretty similar to her other series, though, just...farther back in the past. Any thoughts on how true this is?

    1. It is very true! They are both about the shadowhunters and their supernatural world. The only big difference is that the main character in The Mortal Instruments is a shadowhunter herself. There are even a few characters in The Infernal Devices series that show up in the Mortal Instruments too!
I recommend reading City of Bones as I like TMI a teensy bit more than I like TID! :D

    2. It also seems to be the general consensus that TMI is better...but I already started reading the other series! The historical setting is one of the biggest reasons I find it interesting though, so it might not be a bad thing.

  2. I've been a fan of hers for years already! I don't really think she needs any promotion, she has so many readers and fans... I hope she won't stop after those nine books are all published!

  3. Love Cassandra Clare too! Her series rock - she's definitely one that I would love to read a few standalone novels from too though.

  5. I will confess that I have not yet read any of her books. But eventually I will. I think its cool that she good to the fans. So many authors don't take time for the fans which is sad because fans are the reason why they have all the success that they do.

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Returning the follow.

  6. Cassandra Clare! I haven't started reading Clockwork Angel yet, but since you were recommending it so much, I can't wait to read it!

I definitely love Shannon Hale and Michelle Zink the most (well, for modern day authors and YA, anyway.). They just know their way around beautiful diction so well, their books are always gorgeous pieces of art!
